Selections from Long Island's Best

“Long Island’s Best” at The Heckscher Museum is the only juried exhibition on LI that invites Young Artists to show in a museum. Submissions are inspired by works viewed at the Heckscher during the school year. 100s of students grades 9-12 apply. Roughly 80 works are selected. It is an incredibly moving display of talent and skill.

The full show is on view at The Heckscher Museum in Huntington from March 29 through May 3th. Once that closes, we are honored to be showing a sampling of this show:

ANNUAL NAHS 6X6 COLLABORATIVE

It’s amazing what two friendly art teachers from different districts can pull together. The annual NAHS 6X6 Collaborative is a prime example!

For over a decade now, teachers across Long Island have been bringing members of the National Art Honor Society together in a multi-school endeavor to connect, collaborate and create, resulting in a showcase of student art that is as playful as it is profound.

These remarkable boxes will be on view at The Firefly: May 7 through May 20

Participating High Schools include: Cold Spring Harbor, Garden City, Half Hollow Hills East, Harborfields, Hicksville, Massapequa, Northport, Plainview-Old Bethpage, Roslyn

A reception will be held: Wednesday, May 20 from 5-6pm
