Celebrating the creative endeavors our gardens inspire, artists from throughout Long Island and the greater region are invited to submit artwork for this juried exhibition. Artists may be selected to show works in either or both The Firefly Artists in Northport and Hive Market & Gallery in Oyster Bay.
All original media is acceptable, such as drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, collage, fabric work, glasswork, jewelry and digital media. While digital artwork is eligible, AI-generated art is not, nor are works created in a workshop or class, or otherwise under the close instruction of a teacher. No reproductions will be accepted, with the exception of photography and digital art. Maximum frame size is 36” on the longest side. Sculptures must be no larger than 12” in any direction.
Prizes will be awarded at each location. All art submitted for exhibition must be for sale. The gallery will take a 35% commission on sold pieces.
Submissions from off-Island is fine, but please note: Neither The Firefly Artists nor Hive Market & Gallery take responsibility for shipping. Hand delivery and pickup of works is required for this show
JUDGE
Christine Donnelly: Christine Donnelly is an award winning mixed media artist and art educator from Greenlawn, NY. Her ethereal and playful works of art are inspired by interactions with the natural world and travel adventures. Christine’s most recent work involves experimentation with cyanotype, pushing the traditional boundaries of the technique to achieve layered and abstract imagery. Christine’s art has been featured in solo and juried exhibitions at venues including Museum of Contemporary Arts L.I., Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery, and Andy Tarshis Fine Art Gallery.
She is a grateful recipient of the 2025 and 2026 Artist Fellowship through the Long Island Grants for the Arts and Huntington Arts Council. Christine was a 2025 Resident Artist and is a current Board Member and moderator of Artist Salons at the Art League of Long Island. Christine also facilitates a series of art workshops at locations including the Kasher Gallery and Studios.
