If You See a Tree As Blue – Call for Entry

Maximum Size: Artwork including frame 24”on longest side. Sculpture must be no larger than 12” in any direction.

Reception: May 6, 2023 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm

This exhibition at The Firefly Artists’ Gallery at 90 Main Street, Northport, NY celebrates the color blue, whether it is used as seen in nature, or following Gauguin’s inspiration. Artists are invited to submit artwork that primarily features shades of blue (50% or more of the image) for this juried call.
Artists from throughout Long Island are invited to apply. The Firefly Artists takes no responsibility for shipping, and requires hand delivery and pickup of works. Works may be accepted starting April 1, 2023, with the notices of acceptance released on April 24, 2023.

All original media is acceptable, such as drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, collage, fabric work, glasswork, jewelry and digital media. The exhibition will hang May 1 – May 31, 2023.
Exhibition entries must be original artwork, no reproductions (with the exception of photography). All jewelry must be framed. While framing is not required for 2D works, canvases must be wired for hanging. Works on paper may be matted and will be hung “Clothespin Style.” Artists submit unframed works at their own risk and understand that they are responsible for insuring their own works. Artwork including frame must be under 24″ on the longest side.

All art submitted for exhibition must be for sale. The gallery will take a 35% commission on sold pieces. The sale price provided during submission of the work for exhibition may not be subsequently changed.
Email application and jpeg of your piece to events@thefireflyartists.com. Pay your submission fee on our website. The jury will select as many pieces as we can to fit the alotted space. The Firefly Artists is a family-friendly gallery. It reserves the right to omit any piece at its sole discretion that it deems obscene or offensive in subject matter.
